• My Weekend

    My Weekend

This weekend was so much fun! The weather is finally getting warm and it has been so nice to lay out in the sun. This weekend it was in the 80s and it made me realize how much I missed the warm weather. It makes me even more excited for summer. On Friday I got dinner with my friends, and then hung out with them the rest of the night. On Saturday my dad came to town. It was dad’s weekend for my sorority, so all the dad’s came and we went to a Dragons baseball game, which was a lot of fun. The Dragons won! It was extremely hot at the game and I got really burnt, but I’m happy it was hot and not cold! After the game my dad and I went to dinner and hung out for the rest of the night. When I got back to my dorm, I said goodbye to my dad and hung out with my friends the rest of the night. On Sunday morning I woke up and had a busy day. I had a lot of assignments due this week that I got caught up on and overall had a productive Sunday. This week is busy for me, so I am glad that I got a lot of my work done. It was a great weekend, with great company, good weather, and a fun time. Only a few more weeks until summer break and I am so excited!

  • Monday 4/3

    Monday 4/3

Today is Monday April 3rd. This week is a half week, because we have Easter break starting after Wednesday classes! Today I woke up at 9am and got ready for my 10am class. When I got to class, I realized it was canceled for today, so I went to the coffee shop. I sat there for a while and got an iced latte and avocado toast. I did some work and had a productive morning. After that I had another class at 12:00, and I watched some communication presentations. My next class was at 1:30, which is my lab. This is a long class, but we got out early today which was nice. After classes were all done, I went to the library to study for my Bio test that I have tomorrow. When I got back from the library I went to dinner with a friend. Then I went to get Ben & Jerry’s with some more friends. It was free cone day so we got free ice cream! The weather was so nice out today, it made me so excited for summer. After that, I came back to my room and finished up some more homework, before going to take a shower and getting ready for bed. Overall, it was a pretty good day!

  • Busy Week

    Busy Week

There is a week and a half before Easter break, so this week I have a busy schedule, with many assignments and tests due before break. I am going to organize my schedule for this week.

Monday: On Monday I have three classes from 10:00 to 4:15. Mondays are always long and busy days. After my classes I have some assignments due that night. On Tuesday I have a test, so I will be studying a lot on Monday, as well as finishing some english assignments that are due.

Tuesday: On Tuesday I have three classes from 11:00 to 4:50. Tuesday is a long day of classes, but I don’t have much homework after classes are done, so it should be a pretty easy day.

Wednesday: Wednesday is my favorite class schedule of the week, because I only have class from 10:00-1:00, so I have the rest of the day to do anything. I normally get caught up on a lot of class work on Wednesday’s. This week I’ll need to work on a presentation I have to do for my communications class.

Thursday: My Thursday schedule is the same as my Tuesday schedule, so this is a long day of classes. As well as, I have a lot of assignments due on Friday, so I will be finishing up any work that I haven’t completed yet on this day.

Friday: My Friday schedule is the same as my Wednesday schedule. On this day I have a presentation in one of my classes. Friday will be an easy day and a good start to the weekend!

  • Spring Break

    Spring Break

We just got back from spring break, and I had a great week off spending time with family and friends. To start my spring break off, I left school on Thursday night and flew to New York, where I met up with my parents and sister who got there a few days before me. I was in New York for the first weekend of my break and had so much fun. My family and I explored NYC, ate good food, shopped, and saw a Broadway show. We saw MJ on Broadway, which was a play all about Michael Jackson and his career. It was amazing, with great acting, dancing, and singing. This was a fun weekend spent with my family and was a great start to spring break. On Monday we left New York and flew home to Georgia. I spent the rest of the week relaxing and hanging out with some of my hometown friends. The weather was not as warm as I hoped it would have been, but I still made the best of it. On Friday, it was St. Patrick’s Day and my moms birthday, so we celebrated both at a St. Patty’s party in the city! On the second weekend of spring break, I got to hang out at the lake near my house with all my friends. Spring break has made me want summer to come even faster. This spring break was relaxing and very much needed. It was a week full of family time, friends, and fun. Although break is sadly over, I am excited to finish these last few weeks of school before summer break.

  • A Collection of Poems

    A Collection of Poems

    Under The Dock

    Ripping open the pantry door

rummaging through, to find the crusty, leftover loaf

My legs trip over each other to get outside

I reach the dock and grip the net laying on the silk like grass

Sitting down on the wooden dock,

the white paint chips away on to my skin

As my feet dangle into the water, I break the bread into tiny pieces

Throwing one into the water, fish swarm to the bread

I squeal as I fleet from the water

Laughing from my shock of how many fish were under my dock

I spot a straggler when I discreetly put my net into the water

Tossing another crumbling piece of bread into the water

I watch as the soggy bread sinks beneath the surface

    Planning my sneak attack,

With one fast swipe, my net brushes the slimy scales

I jump up with excitement, holding my first fish of the day.

    Backyard Chaos

Corn bags fly into the air

    The rowdy crew screams

    Without a care

A new game brings in another team

    It’s the championship round

    My cousins go head-to-head

    Everyone and their brother surround

The game begins without a word being said

My dad cheers as he takes the hockey pucks off the grill

The parents holler dinner is ready

But the game is a thrill

    And were all sweaty

We run in to scarf down our food

To get back to the corn hole feud.

  • You Should Visit the Bahamas

    You Should Visit the Bahamas

What could be better than sitting on a beach and reading a good book? What about swimming with colorful schools of fish? Or exploring 30 different islands? The Bahamas are one of the most popular tourist spots in the world. With over 30 small islands, there are plenty of places to go and see here, in the northwestern West Indies. The Bahamas is filled with beautiful beaches to see, amazing food to eat, and great music to listen to. This past summer I visited the Bahamas for two weeks and had a trip of a lifetime. There are many reasons that the Bahamas should be your next vacation spot. To start with, the beaches are incredible. Pearly white sand that makes you feel like you’re walking on clouds. After walking across the soft sand, you lay out in the warm weather relaxing while reading a good book. The average temperature in the summer seasons are around 85-90 degrees. This is a perfect temperature; you will be able to work on a nice tan and intake lots of vitamin D. When the sun becomes too hot, the crystal blue water will fresh you. The combination of turquoise and teal colored water is what the Bahamas is known for. Some of the best snorkeling locations in the world are located here. You will see nerf sharks, puffer fish, stingrays, and a collection of vibrant colors under the water. One of my favorite activities I did here was visit Pig Island. This island is full of pigs that you can take pictures with and explore the island with, as well as feed them, and they love hotdogs. The food here was so good. They are known for their Conch, it’s a small snail and can be cooked many ways. This was the first meal I had when I arrived here, and I had it multiple times again that week, it’s delicious. Freshly caught seafood is available daily, as well as a plethora of other amazing dishes. Each night at dinner there would be a wonderful brand playing. The music here is tropical and fun, this kind of music makes you want to get up and dance. Music makes everything better at the beach and makes dinner even more enjoyable. Overall, my Bahamas experience was a trip I will never forget. The combination of amazing beaches, fun excursions, and great food is why I believe this is one of the best vacation spots. You can find a little bit of everything here and it is great for families of all age groups. The Bahamas is the full package and has it all, and you should definitely visit it on your next vacation.

  • My Bucket List

    My Bucket List

A bucket list is something millions of people make, to establish their biggest goals and dreams they want to achieve. There are millions of places, people, and things I want to see and do before I die. I want to travel and see the world, I want to meet amazing people, and I want to do things that I have never experienced before. Some of my life bucket list goals are to get married, start a family, own my dream house, and have a career that I love. These are some important goals I hope to achieve after I graduate college. Some places I want to travel to before I die are, travel to Bora Bora, visit all 50 states, travel to Peru, Australia, and so many other beautiful places. Traveling is such an amazing thing. You learn and experience so much through it. Some things I want to do before I die are, become fluent in another language, go sky diving, see the northern lights, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, and many more things. These are just some of the many things I hope to achieve in the years to come. By writing down these goals, I am more likely to achieve them. I hope to complete at least one of my goals each year of my life, this way I know I am pursuing my goals and not just pushing them to the side. A bucket list allows me to look at my life right now and see how I want to spend my life and how I want to remember it.

  • My Favorite Holiday

    My Favorite Holiday

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember, my family and I all pile up into one big car and travel down to Louisiana to see my dad’s side of the family. I am always so happy to get to see all my cousins, who I only get to see a few times a year! On Thanksgiving morning we all wake up early to start cooking. Everyone in the house helps out with something, whether that be prepping the turkey with my uncle, prepping the stuffing, making a pie, stirring the gravy, or setting the table. After prepping the food and putting the turkey in the oven, the rest of the afternoon we watch football, hang outside, and catch up with each other as we wait for dinner to cook. When dinner is ready we stuff our faces with turkey, green beans, hawaiian rolls, and mash potatoes. Thanksgiving is one of my favorites, because it includes all my favorite foods. After dinner we head out for a walk around the neighborhood, throwing the football, talking, and walking off all the food we just ate. When we get back home everyone loves to eat my favorite dessert, pumpkin pie. When everyones done eating, we always find a good movie to watch together, to end the night. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of the traditions that my family and I have made and the traditions that will last even after me.

  • Summer Back Home

    Summer Back Home

Summer is my favorite time of year. I thrive in warm weather and love being outside to enjoy it. Summers in Georgia are hot, so I spend most of my days at the pool or lake with friends and family. Summer weather in Georgia is normally between 90 to 100 degrees everyday, so the lake is always a nice way to cool off. The lake is full of years of summer memories for me, from fourth of July parties, sunset cruises, late night bonfires, and so much more. I practically live at the lake during the summer. My friends and I love boating, tanning, floating in the water, and so much more. One of my favorite parts of summer is our fourth of July party. Every year, we host a party at the lake on the 4th and all of our friends, family, and neighbors come over. We grill burgers, listen to music, swim in the lake, and enjoy each other’s company. This is always my favorite day of the year. Everyone is so happy and having a good time. Another tradition I love during the summer is most Sundays we go out for a sunset cruise, before dinner. My mom makes appetizers and drinks for the boat ride. We drive around the lake watching the sunset, and talking about our weeks. The lake is a place that will always hold a special place in my heart, and there are many traditions that I hope continue within my family forever.

  • My Favorite Show

    My Favorite Show

Netflix. The show and movie provider that has the whole world by storm. Within Netflix, there have been many shows that I love and recommend to all people. From feel good shows, to horrors, to some of the best comedies, there is truly something for anyone. Yet, there has been one show that has meant a little bit more than every other show I’ve seen. That show is Money Heist. Not only does this show have amazing actors, exciting scenes, and overall an amazing plot, but an amazing message. From the first season, a bunch of criminals are put together and given a task to rob the MINT, which would be the biggest heist in history. We see a bunch of characters with different ideals, personalities, pasts and and goals come together to accomplish one goal. As you can imagine, it wasn’t the easiest adjustment for a lot of these characters. As the story continues, we see this group of thieves turn into not only a team, but a family. When you have a similar interest and a common goal, amazing things can happen. We see a group that you would never put in a room together complete the biggest heist of all time. We also see this same group not only fall in love as a family, but find love within the group. Money Heist is as good of a show as it gets, and I recommend it to any one who likes to see a truly inspiring story.
